To exercise freedom is to allow anarchic gushes of subjectivity, making room for game and fantasy. The opposite is to squash curiosity and creativity to assure ourselves of a stable shelter, to put life at the service of death, to embalm our vitality in order to satisfy the worrisome and lethargic who invite us to hang ourselves, in the midst of our youth, on the walls of a museum.

The game that is implied in the creative process, the relationship between art, artist and spectator, the context and emotions, feelings and everything that is a part of life… aesthetics, the deep and the vane, the simple truthfulness of beauty and the tenacity of the senses… those have been the driving force behind my work from the beginning. Sometimes with fierce uncertainty, others with stunning calm, yet always with the conviction to express the nudity of the soul.

In this website I’ve meant to travel through time… my time… and invite the audience to submerge in the magic of color, to play with the freedom of imagination without academic limits to what they want to see.

I know now that throughout this search I’ve had moments where vertigo and color have challenged my own limits and when academic strictness has seeped in, it only assures this game has deeper meaning every time.

While studying at the University of Anchorage I began to explore color. The bewitching aurora borealis and the blue sunsets were in my every brush stroke. Little by little color became a need.I delve into the depths of color. I play with any and every material, sometimes timidly, sometimes with arrogance, but always with respect for the intoxication felt within the creative process.

The game became more intense at Universidad de Los Andes and it gained irresistible impulse. This insatiable hunger has been fed with the knowledge gathered through academy.. I’ve learned from artists like Elma Pignalosa, Augusto Ardila, Jorge Valencia Rey and Carlos Lersundy who, with their knowledge, have helped me discover new paths to further my fantastic game.

During this entire process I’ve been satisfied to see the spectator involved in my work… my game. When someone approached my paintings I see the magic of the game evolve. Spectators go to the furthest reaches of my work, sometimes undressing it, others undressing me.
